About this piece:
Overlaid with fragments of Revolver and anchored by a delicate “I’m a Beatle Bug” pin, The Plastic Prophet traces the evolution from pop idol to peace advocate—a shift from the bubblegum innocence of early fan culture to the charged spirit of non-violent revolution. The Revolver overlay evokes a time when protest sought harmony over hostility, when voices of change sang instead of shouted. Ironically, Lennon himself was silenced by the very violence he opposed, transforming his message into a martyr’s echo. His image here becomes both relic and reminder—a reflection of an era when art still believed it could save us, and a lament for the world that proved otherwise.
